Dermot Desmond and Co have been called out <\/p>\n

Furious Celtic protestors have ramped up their demand for change outside the club’s stadium to tell Dermot Desmond<\/a>, Peter Lawwell and Michael Nicholson it’s time to walk away.<\/p>\n

The calls for change included banners, chief executive Nicholson and non-executive chairman Lawwell’s names added to exit signs and a menacing ‘shoot the board’ warning \u2013 a phrase which left Neil Lennon<\/a> raging when the club were met by furious dissenters during their aborted attempt to secure 10-in-row.<\/p>\n

Principal shareholder Desmond was also told time’s up with supporters believing boss Brendan Rodgers<\/a> wasn’t backed after losing Nicolas Kuhn and Kyogo before Adam Idah was sold before the window shut.<\/p>\n

Celtic<\/a>‘s decision makers are facing up to a public on the brink of combustion with supporters’ group returning a vote of no confidence, with recriminations festering in the wake of an ill-fated statement in the eyes of their followers, attempting to explain the club’s disastrous summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

Lennon – speaking amid Celtic’s gloomy run during the Covid-affected 2020\/21 season, said: “I understand the frustrations and the players are feeling that as well. But we don’t like that kind of language or expression anywhere near the stadium. It serves no purpose really.<\/p>\n

“From some sections of the support, it is dangerous rhetoric. What I will say is we all want the same thing. Those fans want success.<\/p>\n

“We all want unity. We have got that certainly from the football side of things and we just want the supporters to get behind the team, especially when they need it.”<\/p>\n

Celtic fans are likely to turn the heat up on their beleaguered board when Brendan Rodgers’ side take on Kilmarnock in their first match since the window shut.<\/p>\n
