Weapons, the acclaimed mystery horror from writer-director Zach Cregger, is now available to watch at home.<\/p>\n

The film<\/a> takes place in the Pennsylvania town of Maybrook as 17 children from the same classroom disappear after running away from home, with the mystery deepening as just one pupil turns up for class the following morning.<\/p>\n

With answers in scarce supply, suspicion soon falls onto teacher Justine Gandy (Julia Garner), with the narrative being told from the viewpoint of various different characters along the way.<\/p>\n

After capturing the public’s attention, as evidenced by its healthy box office takings of $252 million, Weapons<\/a> is now available to view at home just over a month after its theatrical release. <\/p>\n

“Weapons is the feel-bad, feel-good movie of the year — a rare horror masterpiece that leaps beyond its genre without abandoning its sick, sad heart,” opined The Atlantic<\/a>, while TIME Magazine<\/a> called it a “feast”.<\/p>\n

While the film boasts a stacked cast including Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, Austin Abrams and Amy Madigan, the original line-up was nearly altogether different<\/a>, with Pedro Pascal and Brian Tyree Henry originally attached to the project.<\/p>\n

“I had a whole different cast for this,” shared Cregger. “And then we had the strike, and then Pedro Pascal’s schedule threw us into turmoil\u2026 The strikes delayed us, and then when you delay, people’s schedules get conflicts, and then you’re back at square one.”<\/p>\n
