Following its launch in beta a few weeks ago, Android Auto 15.0 is now rolling out more widely through the general release channel, but despite its number, it\u2019s not a major update by any means.<\/p>\n

Despite having some big new features in the pipeline, new Android Auto app versions are generally pretty light on new features. <\/p>\n

Case in point is Android Auto 15.0. <\/p>\n

The new update started rolling out in beta in mid-August<\/a>, and has now started generally rolling out to all users via the stable channel. By its major numbering jump alone, one might assume that this is a big jump, but it\u2019s simply not. As per usual, this update brings some under-the-hood changes to address device and vehicle-specific issues, and doesn\u2019t carry a detailed changelog either. Even the \u201cTheme\u201d setting rename we spotted back in August was removed.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not to say it\u2019s not worth updating. There are always niche Android Auto bugs floating around<\/a>, and updates like these often address problems that most people don\u2019t even know about. You can head over to the Play Store <\/a>to check for Android Auto app updates.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, we are still waiting on some major Android Auto features to be released, such as a light theme and Gemini support, the latter of which Google recently teased is right around the corner.<\/a><\/p>\n
