Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> celebrated his US Open victory<\/a> in true Carlos Alcaraz fashion, partying in New York at a private club with his loved ones. The Spanish superstar has earned something of a \u2018party animal\u2019 reputation, mostly thanks to his annual trips to Ibiza<\/a>, which he takes between the French Open and Wimbledon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The world No. 1 believes his off-court activities are getting \u201ca lot of attention\u201d of late, but he\u2019s more than happy to admit that he enjoys going out and having a good time like any other 22-year-old.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz\u2019s nights out and holidays have been in the spotlight more than ever this year. He released a Netflix<\/a> documentary, My Way, in which he and his team grapple with their different approaches to being a professional tennis player.<\/p>\n

The six-time Major winner is keen to unwind in between intense and stressful periods on the tour. One moment in the documentary, filmed after his heartbreaking 2023 French Open semi-final defeat, showed Alcaraz jetting to Ibiza to \u201ccut loose\u201d<\/a> with friends.<\/p>\n

He told the camera: \u201cIn Ibiza, I\u2019m not gonna lie, everything is always all about partying and going out. I wanted to go there basically just to get wasted.\u201d But it worked, he returned to the tour and won Queen\u2019s and Wimbledon<\/a> back-to-back.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz now makes a habit of heading to the Balearic island in the same period every season. He also enjoyed a relaxed trip to Puerto de Santa Maria after the grass season this year, and then celebrated his US Open title triumph at expensive club Chez Margaux.<\/a><\/p>\n

And he likes proving that he can strike the perfect balance between his on-court success and his off-court interests. Asked what he made of being branded a \u2018party animal\u2019, Alcaraz told El Pais<\/a>: \u201cIt’s been a personal motivation.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, since the documentary premiered, there’s been a lot of talk about it; it’s really gotten a lot of attention. People say I really like to party… And I like to enjoy myself! Who doesn’t like to enjoy themselves?\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not just going out that Alcaraz enjoys, however. He also relishes any time spent at home unwinding with his loved oned.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that’s what we work for, what we suffer for, what we’re away from home for so long; to then have our moments and our fun,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone enjoys it in their own way, and for me, personally, yes, I like going out, because I’m 22. Who hasn’t done it at that age? Who hasn’t enjoyed it at 22?<\/p>\n

\u201cI like having a good time with my family and friends, whether it’s partying or not, with other, more relaxed plans… It’s about having quality time at home so I can stay motivated for tournaments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alcaraz\u2019s approach certainly seems to be working. He\u2019s back at No. 1 in the world for the first time in two years and has now lifted six Major trophies.<\/p>\n

His latest victory at the US Open was arguably his most impressive yet – he dropped one set across seven matches, and was only broken three times in the whole tournament. The Spaniard no doubt deserves another break before moving on to the Asian swing and looking ahead to the end of the season.<\/p>\n
