{"id":410919,"date":"2025-09-09T16:52:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T16:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/410919\/"},"modified":"2025-09-09T16:52:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T16:52:09","slug":"sutton-revealed-as-the-safest-place-in-great-britain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/410919\/","title":{"rendered":"Sutton revealed as the safest place in Great Britain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  A new study shows crime has dropped by 169 per cent in towns and cities across England, Scotland, and Wales compared to last year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  CCTV operator training provider Get Licensed has ranked major UK city and town centres based on crime levels, year-on-year reductions, and reoffending rates.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In their findings, they discovered that Sutton has the safest town centre in the country, and said \u201cSutton is the safest place in Britain\u201d.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The borough scored 47.06 out of 100 on the Safety Index, the highest of all areas analysed.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It recorded an annual crime rate of 61 incidents per 1,000 people, one of the lowest in the country.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Crime has fallen by 2.75 per cent year-on-year, showing a downward trend.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The crime severity score is 11.9, with most crimes tending to be robberies or thefts, with little to no reports of weapons possession.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Sutton\u2019s reoffending rate is 15.74 per cent, lower than most other boroughs in the study.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  There are 1.32 reports of anti-social behaviour per 1,000 people each month, again below many other areas.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The borough is also covered by 230 public CCTV cameras per 100,000 people.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Sutton was awarded a safety score of 8.09 out of 10, the best in the country.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In Get Licensed\u2019s findings, they also noted two other south London boroughs in their top 10 left: Kingston and Richmond.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Kingston upon Thames ranked third with a crime rate of 67.1 per 1,000 people, a 9.69 per cent fall in crime, and a safety score of 7.81 out of 10.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Richmond upon Thames came fifth with a crime rate of 61.7, a slight 0.91 per cent rise in crime, and a safety score of 7.55.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk\/news\/25000369.cheam-sutton-named-one-safest-places-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cheam in Sutton was named one of the safest places<\/a> to live in London by property site Area 360.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Sutton was also named the best place to live and retire at the start of 2025.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A new study shows crime has dropped by 169 per cent in towns and cities across England, Scotland,&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":410920,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5018,3,4],"tags":[748,393,4884,1144,712,16,15,1764],"class_list":{"0":"post-410919","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-britain","8":"category-uk","9":"category-united-kingdom","10":"tag-britain","11":"tag-england","12":"tag-great-britain","13":"tag-northern-ireland","14":"tag-scotland","15":"tag-uk","16":"tag-united-kingdom","17":"tag-wales"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/115175380993888457","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/410919","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=410919"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/410919\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/410920"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=410919"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=410919"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=410919"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
