Perhaps most poignant, however, was the brooch she had pinned to the chest of her coat dress. The piece has a mysterious background, with little known about its origins.<\/p>\n<p>Camilla first began wearing the jewel in the summer of 2022, suggesting it isn&#8217;t a piece from the late Queen Elizabeth II&#8217;s collection, which she inherited that autumn. The Queen first stepped out with the piece for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tatler.com\/topic\/ascot\" isautogenerated=\"true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ascot<\/a> in 2022, before rewearing the gemstone again for the first state visit of the President of South Africa that November.<\/p>\n<p>It could, perhaps, have been a gift from King Charles, or another close family member, to Camilla to mark her 75th birthday, which took place in July 2022.<\/p>\n<p>In recent months, the Queen has been seen wearing sentimental jewellery which once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II for significant events.
