The video game retailer will permanently close its Ellesmere Port branch this month<\/p>\n

GAME has launched a closing down sale as it prepares to close its Ellesmere Port store. The video game retailer is set to permanently close its Coliseum Shopping Park branch this month.<\/a><\/p>\n

With discounts reaching up to 20 per cent off, the shelves are already beginning to look bare. The closure follows GAME’s announcement that it was closing several branches from August through to the end of September.<\/p>\n

The brand falls under the ownership of Frasers Group – which also serves as the parent group for high street stores Sports Direct and House of Fraser, reports Cheshire Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

GAME closed its Lord Street<\/a> site in June this year. Since 2019, the brand has downsized to smaller units located inside Sports Direct stores.<\/p>\n

Sports Direct is moving closer to opening its new location on Church Street. The company\u2019s logo has been placed on the building\u2019s pediment, while red and blue lights can be seen through the windows as renovation work continues to progress inside.<\/p>\n

Sports Direct<\/a> is preparing to bid farewell to its long standing home in Liverpool ONE.<\/a> The sports equipment and clothing retailer was one of the first companies to open inside the shopping complex when it first opened in 2008.<\/p>\n

Signs have been posted in the North John Street store’s windows informing customers of a 20% off closing down sale.<\/p>\n

The ECHO understands that Liverpool ONE\u2019s Sports Direct’s<\/a> last day of trading is Monday, September 29, according to a store worker.<\/p>\n

The ECHO also understands<\/a> the new shop will open Monday, October 13. Last year Frasers Group, which owns House of Fraser, Jack Wills and many other retail brands, purchased Compton House on Church Street, where it plans to relocate the Sports Direct store.<\/p>\n

Signs teasing the new Sports Direct launch have been updated with GAME’s branding, suggesting the retailer will relocate from Lord Street to a smaller concession within Compton House. An opening date is yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
