\n More than 100 shoppers lined up on Tuesday, September 9, to be the first to step inside the sweetie giant\u2019s new unit at Silverburn<\/a> Shopping Centre.\n<\/p>\n

\n Celebrations kicked off at 10am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the brand\u2019s beloved mascot Goldbear, who was joined by the\u00a0deputy leader of Glasgow City Council<\/a>, Councillor Ricky Bill, and Caroline Young, head of fundraising at Glasgow Children\u2019s Hospital Charity<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\n Once inside the 2500 sq ft store, customers were able to explore an extensive range of products, including global favourites from Spain, France, and Germany, as well as exclusive plush toys.\n<\/p>\n

\n The highlight for many visitors was said to be the exclusive \u2019Pick Your Mix\u2019 station featuring over 40 varieties of Haribo and MAOAM treats.\n<\/p>\n

\n During the first hour of opening, anyone who posed for pictures in front of the in-store Goldbear display and uploaded it to their socials was given a free packet of Haribo Nostalgix.\n<\/p>\n

\n The first 75 paying customers also received a free mystery bag packed full of Haribo\u2019s favourites.\n<\/p>\n

\n Speaking at the grand opening, Councillor Bell said: \u201cThis is a great addition to Silverburn\u2019s retail offer and I\u2019m delighted that Haribo, with its incredible global reach and recognition, has selected Glasgow as the location of its most northern store in the world.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cOf course, this is going to be a huge draw for youngsters from all over the country, and you can see that popularity already today.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cBut don\u2019t bet against the grown-ups popping in too for some Star Mix or Tangfastics. And it\u2019s great to see Haribo Silverburn choosing Glasgow Children\u2019s Hospital Charity as its charity partner, as they celebrate today\u2019s grand opening.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n Caroline Young, head of fundraising at Glasgow\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital Charity, told of the difference the partnership will make.\n<\/p>\n

\n She added: \u201cWe are thrilled that Haribo Silverburn has chosen Glasgow Children\u2019s Hospital Charity as their charity partner, as they celebrate the opening of their first store in Scotland.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThis partnership will help us make a lasting difference for the babies, children, and young people cared for at Scotland\u2019s largest children\u2019s hospital.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe are incredibly grateful for the support of Haribo Silverburn, and we wish the team every success with the exciting launch of their new store.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n The Glasgow store, which is the most northern in the world, \u00a0is located on the ground floor of the Southside<\/a> mall.\n<\/p>\n

\n It is Haribo\u2019s twelfth retail store in the UK.\n<\/p>\n

\n The shop offers classics such as Supermix and Giant Strawbs as well as the latest additions, Nostalgix and Alienauts.\n<\/p>\n

\n Not only that, but there are festive products on offer with the shop stocking Hallowe\u2019en goodies and Christmas calendars.\n<\/p>\n

\n David Pierotti, general manager at Silverburn, hailed the opening as a \u201creally exciting\u201d event for the shopping centre.\n<\/p>\n

\n He commented: \u201cThe opening of Haribo\u2019s first ever Scottish store at Silverburn is a really exciting moment for us.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
