{"id":411883,"date":"2025-09-10T01:25:22","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T01:25:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/411883\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T01:25:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T01:25:22","slug":"huge-queue-pictured-at-opening-of-scotlands-first-haribo-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/411883\/","title":{"rendered":"Huge queue pictured at opening of Scotland&#8217;s first Haribo store"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  More than 100 shoppers lined up on Tuesday, September 9, to be the first to step inside the sweetie giant\u2019s new unit at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgowtimes.co.uk\/news\/25187432.news-interviews-updates-silverburn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Silverburn<\/a> Shopping Centre.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Celebrations kicked off at 10am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the brand\u2019s beloved mascot Goldbear, who was joined by the\u00a0deputy leader of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgowtimes.co.uk\/news\/25158943.glasgow-city-council-news-interviews-updates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glasgow City Council<\/a>, Councillor Ricky Bill, and Caroline Young, head of fundraising at Glasgow Children\u2019s Hospital <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgowtimes.co.uk\/topics\/charity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charity<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>(Image: Haribo)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Once inside the 2500 sq ft store, customers were able to explore an extensive range of products, including global favourites from Spain, France, and Germany, as well as exclusive plush toys.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The highlight for many visitors was said to be the exclusive \u2019Pick Your Mix\u2019 station featuring over 40 varieties of Haribo and MAOAM treats.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  During the first hour of opening, anyone who posed for pictures in front of the in-store Goldbear display and uploaded it to their socials was given a free packet of Haribo Nostalgix.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The first 75 paying customers also received a free mystery bag packed full of Haribo\u2019s favourites.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <strong>READ NEXT:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgowtimes.co.uk\/news\/scottish-news\/25450956.inside-scotlands-first-ever-haribo-store-glasgow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inside Scotland&#8217;s first-ever Haribo store in Glasgow<\/a><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>(Image: Haribo)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Speaking at the grand opening, Councillor Bell said: \u201cThis is a great addition to Silverburn\u2019s retail offer and I\u2019m delighted that Haribo, with its incredible global reach and recognition, has selected Glasgow as the location of its most northern store in the world.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cOf course, this is going to be a huge draw for youngsters from all over the country, and you can see that popularity already today.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cBut don\u2019t bet against the grown-ups popping in too for some Star Mix or Tangfastics.
