Arsenal<\/a> vs Nottingham Forest<\/a> will be overseen by Darren England after the Premier League<\/a> announced their refereeing appointments on Monday \u2013 a man who has previously irked both clubs.<\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta was left \u201cabsolutely fuming\u201d after decision approved by Darren England<\/p>\n

You may recall Myles Lewis-Skelly receiving a straight red card from Michael Oliver against Wolves at Molineux last season, a decision England watched and verified while on VAR duty.<\/p>\n

It was a ridiculous decision \u2013 one that was swiftly overturned \u2013 and it led Mikel Arteta to say: \u201cI am absolutely fuming but I leave it with you, because it is that obvious, I don\u2019t think my words are going to help.\u201d<\/p>\n

England also penalised Lewis-Skelly in a 1-1 draw against Everton last term, awarding the Toffees a soft penalty after the England international was adjudged to have fouled Jack Harrison.<\/p>\n

It was a match where the 39-year-old also strangely blew his whistle to signal the end of the game, before resuming the action after Everton players pointed out there was still time left on the big screen.<\/p>\n

Darren England has wronged Nottingham Forest too<\/p>\n

Nottingham Forest suffered a 2-0 defeat against Brentford back in May which did serious harm to their UEFA Champions League hopes, ultimately slipping down as low as seventh.<\/p>\n

This defeat, overseen by England, saw Brentford escape unpunished despite Keane Lewis-Potter committing two bookable offences.<\/p>\n

Jamie Redknapp felt a red card should have been shown, admitting to Sky Sports: \u201cIt is probably a (second) yellow card. Maybe they should (have substituted him) but Lewis-Potter has been so good all season, you don\u2019t want to take him off right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

England \u2013 who Mark Clattenburg recently criticised<\/a> \u2013 was also the VAR for that disallowed Luis Diaz goal during a clash between Tottenham and Liverpool in September 2023.<\/p>\n
