Despite the royal family\u2019s admiration for tradition, Prince William is likely to scrap a lot of the long-standing formalities once he becomes monarch, claimed former Buckingham Palace butler Grant Harrold.<\/p>\n
In his book \u201cThe Royal Butler,\u201d Harrold also revealed that Prince William and Princess Kate live with a butler, and their three children \u2013 George, Charlotte and Louis \u2013 are also likely to follow the same ways.<\/p>\n
Harrold was the butler of King Charles<\/a> between 2004 and 2011.<\/p>\n Also Read<\/strong> | Ex-Royal butler says there’s no coming back for the Sussexes<\/a>\u2018Reset button\u2019<\/p>\n In his book, which will be released on September 23, Grant Harrold said that the modern monarch, Prince William<\/a>, will use his reign to press a \u201creset button\u201d and reduce the family’s central figures.<\/p>\n \u201cThe reality is, when [William and Princess Kate\u2019s children] George, Charlotte and Louis become of age and start getting involved, the monarchy will be the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children only,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He also noted that the monarchy will get more fragile as the years go on, \u201cand it\u2019s changing\u201d. \u201cIt\u2019s become more of a celebrity thing than a historical firm. Harry was the first celebrity royal,\u201d Harrold, 47, said.<\/p>\n Also Read<\/strong> | Did Prince William, Kate Middleton react to Taylor Swift\u2019s engagement?<\/a>\u2018They do stuff themselves\u2019<\/p>\n Unlike his predecessors, Prince William’s family believes in doing their work themself.<\/p>\n The former butler said that William and Kate have lived without a butler for many years, and he thinks that the Wales family, their three kids, will also continue to do the same.<\/p>\n \u201cI wanted to butler, to look after [William and Kate], and they didn\u2019t want any of it,\u201d Harrold said. \u201cThey wanted to do stuff themselves. They were carrying their own stuff, doing their own washing up, their own cooking.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey are very much still like that. [William] is very hands-on. Very rarely did they do stuff separately.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Harrold said, he believes \u201csomething bigger happened\u201d between Harry and William.<\/p>\n \u201cI was genuinely shocked when they fell out,\u201d he said. \u201cThere must be something deeper going on that we\u2019re not being told.\u201d<\/p>\n
