\n The major motorway was shut in both directions at Junction 3 (Hornshill Interchange) at around 9.46am on Tuesday, September 9.\n<\/p>\n
\n Traffic Scotland said the road had been closed due to ‘separate road traffic incidents’ on both the northbound and southbound carriageways.\n<\/p>\n
\n READ MORE:\u00a0Major Glasgow motorway closed amid ongoing emergency incident<\/a>\n<\/p>\n \n During the incident, police were urging drivers to ‘avoid the area’, while Traffic Scotland was warning motorists to expect ‘delays’.\n<\/p>\n \n Following the collisions, the Scottish Ambulance Service<\/a> (SAS) said they were alerted to the incidents at 9.29am on Tuesday.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n \n The service was called to two road traffic collisions on the road – one on each side of the carriageway.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n \n Two ambulances, a special operations response team, a paramedic response unit, a critical care paramedic, and a trauma team were sent to the scene.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n \n After that, one person was taken to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital<\/a> for treatment, while another person was taken to Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary.\n<\/p>\n \n READ MORE:\u00a0Detectives pictured scouring scene of Glasgow city centre incident<\/a>\n<\/p>\n \n Traffic Scotland has since revealed the motorway has fully reopened. It reopened at around 12.16pm.\n<\/p>\n \n An SAS spokesperson said:\u00a0\u201cWe received a call at 9.29am\u00a0to attend two road traffic collisions on the M80, one on each side of the carriageway.\n<\/p>\n \n “Two ambulances, a special operations response team (SORT), a paramedic response unit, a critical care paramedic, and a trauma team were dispatched to the scene.\n<\/p>\n \n “One patient was transported to the\u00a0Queen Elizabeth University Hospital<\/a>\u00a0and another patient to the Royal Infirmary of Glasgow.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
