Lewis Capaldi is set to perform in Scotland for the first time since taking a hiatus from music to focus on his health.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bathgate singer was forced to cut short his Glastonbury 2023 set after experiencing a flare-up of his Tourette\u2019s symptoms, with the supportive Somerset crowd singing along to \u201cSomeone You Loved\u201d to help carry him through.<\/p>\n

But he made an emotional return to the Pyramid Stage this summer and has since embarked on a UK-wide tour.<\/p>\n

Capaldi was visibly nervous, and at one moment broke into tears, during his opening performance at Sheffield\u2019s Utilita Arena on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

And now he\u2019s back on home soil \u2013 performing two nights at the P&J Live in Aberdeen and two nights at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Within minutes of becoming available, tickets for the singer\u2019s long-awaited comeback tour appeared on resale sites for hundreds of pounds more than face value.<\/p>\n

Disappointed fans who missed out on the tickets took to social media to voice their dismay, with many claiming the singer could sell out higher-capacity venues, such as stadiums.<\/p>\n

Capaldi addressed the requests and admitted that playing at venues the size of stadiums would be the \u201cmost terrifying thing ever\u201d at this stage of his comeback.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeen a couple of people mention bigger venues, honestly after taking the break it\u2019s impossible to know how many of ya might want to come [or] not come to shows,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Speaking earlier this year, Capaldi said his 2023 Glastonbury performance was the \u201cworst moment of his life\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Grammy-nominated artist also said he had previously been \u201clying\u201d to a therapist and \u201ctelling them what I thought they wanted to hear\u201d \u2013 but that he now \u201cfeels amazing\u201d after a session..<\/p>\n

\u201cI really struggle with it, it\u2019s not fun. I don\u2019t have a fun time there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel amazing after, it\u2019s like going to the gym, I think, which obviously I\u2019m well versed in.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes it can be really difficult, but I think I do it because I realise how important is for me to continue to feel good, because I\u2019ve felt the best I felt in a long time through therapy, I would say that has been the cornerstone of like, why I feel how good I feel now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

What is Tourette\u2019s?<\/p>\n

The NHS describes Tourette\u2019s as \u201ca condition that causes a person to make involuntary sounds and movements called tics\u201c.<\/p>\n

It was named by French neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot after his intern Georges Gilles de la Tourette reported the cases of nine patients with \u201cconvulsive tic disorder\u201d in 1885.<\/p>\n

Symptoms can also include shouting out random words and swearing \u2013 although that is rare \u2013 as well as grimacing, eye rolling and jumping.<\/p>\n

Usually beginning during childhood, symptoms usually improve after several years and sometimes go away completely.<\/p>\n

Boys are more likely to be diagnosed as girls \u2013 but it\u2019s not known why.<\/p>\n
