BCCI gets HC notice for state body\u2019s expenses\" title=\"BCCI Photo\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/> DEHRADUN: The Uttarakhand high court on Tuesday issued notice to the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/bcci\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BCCI<\/a> on petitions seeking a probe into the alleged misuse of ?12 crore in government funds by the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU). The funds were meant for organising tournaments.The petitioners cited CAU\u2019s audit report, conducted by an external chartered accountant, which listed ?35 lakh as \u201cexpenditure on bananas for players.\u201dA single bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari was hearing multiple petitions filed by Dehradun resident Sanjay Rawat and others seeking an investigation into the audit report of the association\u2019s accounts for the 2024-25 financial year.The audit report showed that ?6.4 crore was paid towards event management and a total of ?26.3 crore was spent on tournaments and trial expenses \u2014 up from ?22.3 crore in the previous financial year.The petitioners accused the association of embezzling crores of rupees in the name of food expenses.
