One customer said when they had dark mode on, the app screen was too dark for them to see.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/nationwide\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Nationwide told the customer that a new feature<\/a> would soon be added in the banking app menu, allowing you to toggle dark mode on and off for the app, independently of your device setting. A spokesperson said: &#8220;Customers will be able to toggle on and off dark mode in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/uk-prescription-rule-change-means-32371493\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE UK prescription rule change means households face \u00a3247 charge<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Until then, we would recommend switching between light and dark mode on their mobile phone settings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Another customer contacted Nationwide over social media to say they disliked the dark blue background used in the dark mode for the Nationwide app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">They asked why there was no option to change dark mode on and off within the app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Nationwide said in response that &#8220;this feature is being worked on&#8221;. On its website, Nationwide says you can use its app to bank safely and securely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">It says: &#8220;Log in with your fingerprint, face recognition or passnumber if your device allows. Confirm your identity with facial recognition. No more card reader to make payments in the app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Set up facial recognition to confirm your identity and make payments easier.
