Emergency services descended on an Oldham<\/a> street after a car was set on fire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Crews and police attended Edge Lane Street, in Royton<\/a>, at around 10.40pm on Tuesday night (September 9).<\/p>\n

Witnesses described hearing ‘small explosions’ before seeing smoke billowing from the area.<\/p>\n

Images show flames soaring from the vehicle involved, while officers were seen searching the area after the fire broke out.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> confirmed it was called out after a car was set on fire outside a property on Edge Lane Street.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident so far and enquiries remain ongoing this morning (Wednesday), the force says.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service added: “At shortly before 10.40pm on Tuesday (September 9) three fire engines from Oldham, Chadderton<\/a> and Hollins fire stations were called to a car fire on Edge Lane Street, Royton.<\/p>\n

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the fire and make the surrounding area safe.<\/p>\n

“Crews were in attendance for around 50 minutes.”<\/p>\n
