The former pizzeria and bar space on Parr Street quickly became an alternative outlet for late night entertainment when it first opened as <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/crazy-pedros-heartbreaking-message-liverpool-30495811\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Crazy Pedro&#8217;s<\/a> in 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/crazy-pedros-heartbreaking-message-liverpool-30495811\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Crazy Pedro&#8217;s<\/a> is run by hospitality operators<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-bars\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Ross Mackenzie, Jobe Ferguson and Lyndon Higginson<\/a>, who run bars and restaurants in Manchester including the Cane &amp; Grain. Late in 2023, another of the group&#8217;s venues, a Tiki bar named The Liars Club, announced its closure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In December 2024, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/crazy-pedros-heartbreaking-message-liverpool-30495811\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Crazy Pedro&#8217;s<\/a> bid farewell to customers, with the final day of operations falling on Sunday, December 22.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A statement from the venue at the time read: &#8220;Crazy times are unfortunately calling time on Crazy Pedro&#8217;s Liverpool. After seven years of Pedro\u2019s love affair with Liverpool, the party is almost over but not quite yet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Rising costs, the ongoing cost of living crisis, inflation and the recent budget mean we can no longer ride it out into the New Year. We love you Liverpool &#8211; we are super grateful for all the support and friendships made but unfortunately it\u2019s now beyond our means to carry on.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/0_First-look-inside-Crazy-Pedros-Pizza-Parlour-on-Parr-Street-in-Liverpool-city-centre-Picture-Jason.jpeg\" alt=\"Inside Crazy Pedro's on Parr Street\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Inside Crazy Pedro&#8217;s on Parr Street(Image: Liverpool Echo)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Parr Street venue has now been acquired by Oliver craft beer business Black Cat Bar and Bottle Shop, which already boasts sites on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/liverpool-bar-beer-lovers-far-27683670\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Smithdown RoadLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Smithdown Road<\/a> and on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/new-bar-opens-building-a-29190401\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Rose Lane in Mossley HillLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Rose Lane in Mossley Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Yesterday, Black Cat posted a video on Instagram jingling a pair of keys outside Crazy Pedro&#8217;s as the shutters rolled up. The caption reads: &#8220;Did you guess it? The ol&#8217; Crazy Peds &#8211; Black Cat Parr St.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Prior to this, Black Cat has been teasing the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-bars\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"opening of a city centre venueLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">opening of a city centre venue<\/a> recently. Black Cat recently said: &#8220;The past five years have been beyond our wildest dreams &#8211; relaunching as Black Cat, opening Rose Lane and being nominated for CAMRA pub of the year in just nine months and now a third venue is on its way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-city-centre\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Liverpool city centreLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool city centre<\/a>, we\u2019re coming and it\u2019s gonna be crazy. They have become firm favourites of beer lovers in the south of the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The craft beer bars <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/bar-says-you-heard-issues-31610684\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"are not connected with Black Cat ClubLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">are not connected with Black Cat Club<\/a>, which opened its doors at Exchange Flags in the city centre on May 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">But the opening has been causing some confusion for Black Cat bar, who said it has been contacted by customers who have thought they are all part of the same venture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In a statement on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/facebook\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"FacebookLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> in May, the bar and bottle shop said: &#8220;Black Cat Club is a completely different place, with the same name, confusingly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;So go to them for ping pong and games in town, come to us on Smithdown or Rose Lane for amazing craft beer, margarita Mondays and two of the best quizzes in Liverpool!
