Sir Robert McAlpine has been appointed as construction manager on Therme Manchester, the UK\u2019s first urban wellness<\/a><\/strong> resort.<\/p>\n

Therme Group has been working with Sir Robert McAlpine through a pre-construction services agreement, and has now selected the company as the project\u2019s construction manager.<\/p>\n

Therme Manchester<\/a><\/strong> will be Europe\u2019s largest thermal pool complex, offering indoor and outdoor pools, more than 25 waterslides, the largest sauna area in the UK, a wave pool, multiple steam rooms, botanical gardens, and immersive art.<\/p>\n

UK\u2019s first urban wellness<\/strong> resort <\/p>\n

Located in the TraffordCity retail and leisure destination, Therme Manchester is a \u20ac500 million (\u00a3413m), 28-acre project.<\/p>\n

James Whittaker<\/strong>, managing director of Peel Waters, the property developer behind Therme Manchester, said: \u201cFollowing on from the preparation of the site and carrying out the demolition works of the former EventCity, we are now extremely pleased to see the appointment of Sir Robert McAlpine in readiness for delivering this truly transformational, unique wellness resort, which will be a complete game-changer for health, leisure and the visitor economy in the north.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe resort will attract millions of visitors each year to boost our economy and will provide hundreds of construction jobs and full-time jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Therme Group is currently planning a global expansion, building new destinations in locations such as Dubai<\/a><\/strong>, Canada<\/a><\/strong>, and across the US<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
