Is Isak really twice the player that Joao Pedro is? I don’t think so. The early signs are that the 23-year-old frontman can do it all, though.

Daniel Sturridge’s verdict on Chelsea’s Pedro is that he’s the most underrated signing of the summer.

Meanwhile, Isak, 25, has emerged as one of the Premier League’s elite strikers recently. He scored 54 goals in 86 league appearances for Newcastle, so those numbers could only rise with reigning champions Liverpool.

Photo by Marc Atkins/Getty ImagesJoao Pedro now under extra pressure at Chelsea

The pressure that Isak will be on at Liverpool from day one will be colossus. However, we expect to see him leading the line during Delap’s absence as the senior option, where his job will be to score and create goals.

It will be fascinating to compare Pedro and Isak by the time the 2025/26 season finishes to see the impacts they have made on their respective new clubs.

The recent transfer window was pretty chaotic for Chelsea, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.
