A man is fighting for his life after being ‘hit around the head’ on a Bolton<\/a> street.<\/p>\n Emergency services raced out to Gibraltar Street, in Bolton, at around 4.55pm on Tuesday afternoon (September 9).<\/p>\n Greater Manchester Police<\/a> says it was called out to reports of an assault<\/a>.<\/p>\n The victim, a 36-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with ‘potentially life-threatening injuries’.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The Manchester Evening News understands that the victim is believed to have been hit around the head.<\/p>\n Images from the scene showed a cordon in place on Tuesday evening, with multiple police vehicles and an ambulance in attendance.<\/p>\n GMP is now urging witnesses to come forward, with no arrests made so far.<\/p>\n A force spokesperson said: “Officers are investigating reports of an assault on Gibraltar Street, in Bolton, at around 4:55pm yesterday (Tuesday, September 9).<\/p>\n “The victim, a 36-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment on potentially life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n “No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n “We are appealing for witnesses of the incident to get in touch with police.”<\/p>\n![\"Police](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/0_notlob2JPG.jpg\")
