Each year over 8,000 skilled graduates enter the workforce, making the College a vital contributor to Scotland\u2019s economy and to communities around the world.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Its heritage, however, runs much deeper. The story can be traced back to 1853, when Allan Glen\u2019s Institute first opened on the site where today\u2019s City Campus now stands. From those early beginnings to the \u00a3228 million \u201csuper campus\u201d of the present day, one thread has remained consistent: widening access, delivering industry-relevant skills, and transforming lives.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The 15-year anniversary was marked at a gala dinner which welcomed leaders from business and academia, alongside students, staff and alumni whose achievements embody the College\u2019s mission. Guest of honour was Scotland\u2019s First Minister, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/news\/25074444.john-swinney-news-interviews-updates-fm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Swinney<\/a>, who formerly opened the City Campus in 2016 \u2013 a fitting return that underlined the institution\u2019s enduring importance to the nation\u2019s educational and economic landscape.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>(Image: City of Glasgow College\u2019s Principal and CEO Paul Little) Across this supplement are 15 inspiring profiles of students and graduates whose journeys highlight the life-changing impact of a City of Glasgow College education.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  From celebrity chef Nick Nairn, whose nautical studies sparked a global career in food, to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/sport\/25140536.glasgow-commonwealth-games-2026-latest-news-interviews-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Commonwealth Games<\/a> gold medallist Kimberley Renicks, chocolatier Chloe Oswald, actor Scott Kyle and many more, these stories reflect the breadth of talent nurtured by the College.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Together with coverage of the gala evening, they illustrate how City of Glasgow College has grown over the past 15 years, while honouring the heritage of its legacy institutions.
