{"id":413394,"date":"2025-09-10T14:58:13","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T14:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/413394\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T14:58:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T14:58:13","slug":"annual-celebration-of-latin-american-culture-set-to-return-this-october-bigger-than-ever-before","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/413394\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual celebration of Latin American culture set to return this October bigger than ever before"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Preparations are in full swing for the region\u2019s annual celebration of Latin American culture taking place this October.<\/p>\n<p>La Feria\u00a0will take over multiple Merseyside venues from 1st to 5th October 2025 and organisers have promised that it will be \u2018bigger, bolder, and more unforgettable than ever\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The theme for this year\u2019s event is \u201cExperience, Belong, Celebrate\u201d with audiences invited to dive into a vibrant celebration of Latin American music, art and culture.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/unnamed-2-1-e1757515666838.jpg\" alt=\"La Feria\" class=\"wp-image-225782\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The festival will feature thought-provoking theatre, an exhibition of Latin American artists\u2019 work and past festivals, a takeover of World Museum Liverpool, and a chance to experience the sounds and taste of the continent with authentic workshops, traders and cuisine at The Black-E.<\/p>\n<p>From powerful live music to stories that stir the soul, the events have been curated by Liverpool\u2019s own Luma Creations to transport audiences across borders and \u2018connect them with the beating heart of Latin America\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the 2025 festival include an entrancing evening of theatre and music at Unity Theatre on Wednesday 1st October, with a special opening from\u00a0La Charawilla, followed by Pepa Duarte\u2019s acclaimed solo performance\u00a0Eating Myself.<\/p>\n<p>The journey then moves through a series of unforgettable concerts, from the intimacy of the Philharmonic Music Room with local artists Saranne &amp; Alex alongside Chile\u2019s Antonio Monasterio Ensamble on Thursday 2nd October, across to the British Music Experience with Grupo Luma and Seba Barrientos Tr\u00edo from Frutillar on Friday 3rd October.<\/p>\n<p>The festival then heads over the water to Future Yard in Birkenhead for a night guaranteed to get audiences moving, featuring the legendary Kumbia Boruka and Chapulines on Saturday 4th October.<\/p>\n<p>And this year, La Feria reaches even further, building powerful new links between Liverpool and Chile\u2019s UNESCO Cities of Music. These groundbreaking partnerships are opening doors for future collaborations and creative exchanges.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/unnamed-3-scaled-e1757515695295.jpg\" alt=\"La Feria\" class=\"wp-image-225783\"\/><br \/>\n<strong>Francisco Carrasco, Creative Director and CEO of Luma Creations, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year we bring together award-winning international artists from across the continent, artists based in the UK, dynamic community groups, and the community itself, to experience, participate and share our exciting and diverse cultures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s festival is dedicated to Francisco\u2019s wife, the late Maggi Toft, who passed away in April after a short battle with cancer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking on the dedication, Francisco said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaggi was an educator who spent her life ensuring that people from diverse and hard-to-reach backgrounds had a chance to have a good and fulfilling life. We dedicate this festival to Maggi and everything she stood for.
