Washington, DC \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Hours after United States President Donald Trump promised that Israel would not attack Qatar<\/a> again, the Israeli ambassador to the US suggested that his country could repeat its attempt to kill Hamas officials within the Gulf country.<\/p>\n Speaking to Fox News late on Tuesday, Yechiel Leiter said if Hamas leaders had survived the Doha bombardment, Israel would target them again.<\/p>\n Recommended Stories list of 3 itemsend of list<\/p>\n \u201cIf we didn\u2019t get them this time, we\u2019ll get them the next time,\u201d the Israeli envoy said.<\/p>\n Israel launched air attacks in Doha targeting a Hamas delegation that was meeting to discuss Trump\u2019s Gaza ceasefire proposal<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n But Hamas said its top leaders \u2013 including its Gaza chief Khalil al-Hayya<\/a> \u2013 survived the assassination attempt, which killed six people, including a Qatari security officer.<\/p>\n Countries across the world<\/a>, including some of Israel\u2019s Western allies, condemned the attack.<\/p>\n The Israeli air raids appear to have violated several provisions of international law, including the United Nations Charter\u2019s prohibition on aggression against sovereign states.<\/p>\n Qatar described the strikes as \u201cstate terrorism\u201d and called for a regional response against the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.<\/p>\n Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani accused Netanyahu of undermining regional stability and peace in pursuit of \u201cnarcissistic delusions\u201d and personal gains.<\/p>\n \u201cWorking to violate the sovereignty of nations without any care must not be overlooked and must be confronted by all means,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
