Federico Chiesa<\/a> is out to convince Arne Slot<\/a> to give him more opportunities this season after a transfer did not eventuate for the Italian this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A transfer was expected for the Italian after playing 466 minutes across his debut season, with Slot instead favouring his other forward options.<\/p>\n

He could still feasibly move on this summer with the Super Lig transfer window open until Friday, but Besiktas made a loan approach<\/a> and were rebuffed.<\/p>\n

Chiesa has come off the bench in all three Premier League<\/a> games this season, but his omission from the Champions League<\/a> squad underlined his status in Liverpool\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n

Though, according to Gazzetta dello Sport<\/a>, Chiesa is still hopeful of convincing Slot to give him more opportunities and is \u201ccounting on proving himself\u201d to the Dutchman. <\/p>\n

Chiesa is claimed to have rejected interest from Turkey as he \u201cbelieves it\u2019s more valuable to compete with top players\u201d than \u201crisk embarrassment\u201d of another move not living up \u201cto expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

His task only grew harder with the arrival of Alexander Isak<\/a>, with the investment in Florian Wirtz<\/a> and Hugo Ekitike<\/a> underlining the direction Slot wants to take his side.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old will be more than aware that the World Cup looms next year, and he also \u201cunderstands the dangers of getting distracted by mid-season decisions when everything is still up for grabs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Chiesa\u2019s opportunities will remain limited this season, as it stands, but he will be hopeful that Slot embraces the lesson of rotation and squad depth with a game every midweek and weekend. <\/p>\n
