{"id":413550,"date":"2025-09-10T16:21:25","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T16:21:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/413550\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T16:21:25","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T16:21:25","slug":"felixstowe-company-speaks-out-after-hitchin-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/413550\/","title":{"rendered":"Felixstowe company speaks out after Hitchin incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Martello Transport, based in Felixstowe, couriered a delivery of glass panels near to non-league side\u00a0Hitchin Football Club on Saturday, September 6.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The delivery involved carrying the load, but the company confirms it had no role in the loading, securing, or off-loading the goods.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Two men who were unloading glass panels from the lorry died at the scene, and a third man sustained minor injuries and received treatment, Hertfordshire Police confirmed.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   alt=\"The scene of the incident\" style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>The scene of the incident (Image: James Linsell Clark\/SWNS) Directors at Martello Transport released a statement on social media and wrote: &#8220;We are aware of a tragic incident involving a delivery undertaken by Martello Transport.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n    &#8220;Our deepest sympathies are with the families, friends, and colleagues of those who lost their lives.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n    &#8220;The consignment involved was prepared, loaded, and unloaded entirely by third parties.
