{"id":413582,"date":"2025-09-10T16:37:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T16:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/413582\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T16:37:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T16:37:10","slug":"residents-asked-to-share-views-on-west-midlands-nature-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/413582\/","title":{"rendered":"Residents asked to share views on West Midlands nature plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The blueprint aims to improve and safeguard nature and green spaces across the West Midlands.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The public consultation is part of the preparation for the West Midlands Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS), led by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), councils and partners.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The consultation will continue until Friday, September 12, with residents invited to scrutinise and comment on the draft LNRS at the WMCA website.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  See: <a href=\"www.wmca.org.uk\/LNRS\">www.wmca.org.uk\/LNRS<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for economy and infrastructure, said: &#8220;While expert knowledge has been critical in developing the LNRS, it is equally important to understand the views of people who live and work in the region.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;That includes people in our borough, and I\u2019d really like as many people as possible to take part in this consultation.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He highlighted the significance of green spaces, citing a previous WMCA survey where nearly two-thirds of respondents said green spaces were important.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He said: &#8220;As such, we have to protect them at all costs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;This strategy will help preserve our beauty spots for future generations to enjoy and protect habitats so wildlife can continue to flourish and thrive.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The blueprint aims to improve and safeguard nature and green spaces across the West Midlands.
