Police are investigating an attempt to snatch a schoolgirl from the street near a Birmingham<\/a> beauty spot.<\/p>\n

The incident took place near Faulkners Farm Drive in Erdington<\/a> on Wednesday (September 10).<\/p>\n

The girl, aged 14, was on her way to school when a man is said to have tried to \u2018drag\u2019 her into a car at around 8.45am.<\/p>\n

The girl managed to run away and police said she was not injured.<\/p>\n

But the girl\u2019s mother posted on social media that her daughter was \u2018really shaken up\u2019.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cThis world is sickening. My daughter was almost abducted and dragged into a car this morning on the way to school.<\/p>\n

\u201cLucky she managed to get away and return home safely.<\/p>\n

The teen\u2019s aunt also posted online and said: \u201cSo some man tried to abduct my 14-year-old niece this morning on Faulkners Farm Drive, Erdington.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut luckily she managed to get away. Can everyone share this so people know because another girl might not be so lucky.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a white man with a bald head and an accent, hopefully they find the b*****d!\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesman for West Midlands Police<\/a> said: \u201cWe are investigating following an attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl near Witton Lakes Park.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were called to reports that a man had tried to abduct a girl near Faulkners Farm Drive in Erdington, at around 8.45 this morning, before she managed to run away.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur investigators are working to establish the full details and identify who was responsible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThankfully, the girl was uninjured and is safe.<\/p>\n
