{"id":414741,"date":"2025-09-11T02:58:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T02:58:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/414741\/"},"modified":"2025-09-11T02:58:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T02:58:18","slug":"moorfield-and-tiger-developments-form-jv-to-deliver-pbsa-scheme-in-bristol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/414741\/","title":{"rendered":"Moorfield and Tiger Developments form JV to deliver PBSA scheme in Bristol"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UK-focused real estate fund manager, Moorfield Group, and Tiger Developments have agreed a joint venture to deliver a purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Bristol.<\/p>\n<p>The 204-bed scheme will be jointly developed and managed by the JV, with Moorfield providing funding through its latest diversified value-add fund, Moorfield Real Estate Fund V (MREFV).<\/p>\n<p>Host, the operational business and sister company of Tiger Developments, has been appointed to manage the 204-bed scheme upon completion of construction. Watkin Jones has been appointed as the delivery and contracting partner for the development.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a360million GDV development forms part of Temple Quarter, the UK\u2019s largest regeneration project and one of the largest in Europe. Over the next 25 years, Temple Quarter is set to deliver 10,000 new homes and 22,000 jobs through science, education, business and technology facilities, as well as public spaces, commercial, leisure and retail offerings across 135 hectares.<\/p>\n<p>The JV\u2019s scheme is directly opposite the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, a \u00a3500million development from the University of Bristol and a key part of the regeneration, which will educate 4,600 students, with 650 staff and 350 partners across new business schools, research hubs and innovation centres.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.showhouse.co.uk\/watkin-jones-receives-planning-approval-for-student-housing-scheme-in-bristol\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Watkin Jones receives planning approval for student housing scheme in Bristol<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Designed by Chapman Taylor architects, the amenity-rich development will be built to a high specification, targeting an EPC A rating, BREEAM Excellent and will have PV panels and a connection into the local district heating network as part of a best-in-class environmental profile.<\/p>\n<p>Moorfield has a strong track record in the student housing market, having delivered around 5,000 beds through Domain, its PBSA development and operational platform established in 1997. A further 2,000+ beds are being aggregated through Moorfield\u2019s student houses strategy, which acquires and modernises student HMOs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles Ferguson-Davie, co-CEO and CIO, Moorfield, said:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cMREFV has a thematic focus on Living &amp; Storage real estate and PBSA remains a high conviction sector, where we can meet demand for best-in-class accommodation in the UK\u2019s most structurally undersupplied markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are many challenges facing the development sector, which now also includes the new building control submission process, and we are pleased that we have been able to form a partnership with Tiger and Watkin Jones, who are both very experienced developers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Nesbitt, managing director at Host, said:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cThis partnership with Moorfield Group will expedite the delivery of what we believe is one of the most exciting PBSA schemes planned for any UK city.
