We may be outside the Premier League’s summer transfer window but Manchester United remain heavily involved with the market as we enter mid-September.<\/p>\n

The windows in Turkey and Saudi Arabia remain open until for a couple more days allowing United<\/a> to complete some sales that they were not able to get done in the summer transfer window<\/a>. However, managing to do that can be easier said than done.<\/p>\n

In our latest look at the United transfer headlines, it appears that one player the Reds are looking to move on is attempting to stall the process from being completed.<\/p>\n

Malacia stalls United exit<\/p>\n

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook<\/a>, defender Tyrell Malacia<\/a> is reportedly looking to block a move to Turkish club Eyupspor. It has been reported this week that the Reds and Eyupspor reached an agreement to bring Malacia to Turkey.<\/p>\n

However, Crook understands that Malacia is not keen on the deal and is looking to stay put in Manchester.<\/p>\n

What MEN Sport says:<\/strong> It is unsurprising to hear that Malacia does not fancy the move to Eyupspor. It would be considered to be a significant step down from his loan spell at PSV Eindhoven last season.<\/p>\n

However, staying at Old Trafford is just not a credible option for the Dutchman and he is doing himself more harm than good staying. Malacia has already confirmed that he wants to leave United so the chances of him being reintegrated are slim. His best shot of earning a move to a top five league in January or next summer is to be playing regularly. Eyupspor could offer him that chance but not if Malacia is willing to sit in the academy until the winter.<\/p>\n

Reviewing the summer window that has just gone, Foot Mercato<\/a> reports that United<\/a> made a last minute bid to try and sign Lyon’s Belgian winger Malick Fofana before the deadline passed. It is believed that Fofana was interested in the deal but United were waiting for the player’s father to give them the green light to approach him.<\/p>\n

That permission never arrived and United were forced to move on. It is believed that Fofana became a last minute target after selling Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> to Chelsea.<\/p>\n

What MEN Sport says:<\/strong> The 20-year-old has plenty of potential but it seems hard to imagine thinking that a player who plays predominantly on the wing would suit Ruben Amorim’s system.<\/p>\n

This screams as a panic last minute approach that perhaps rightly fell through for United’s sake. United ended the window with plenty of attacking options which ensured Garnacho leaving was not a big blow. If this is true, it will be interesting to see if United go back in for Fofana in the future.<\/p>\n
