{"id":415422,"date":"2025-09-11T09:18:36","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T09:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/415422\/"},"modified":"2025-09-11T09:18:36","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T09:18:36","slug":"14-fire-crews-battle-severe-blaze-in-west-works-way-longbridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/415422\/","title":{"rendered":"14 fire crews battle severe blaze in West Works Way, Longbridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t\tA TOTAL of 14 fire engines attended a severe blaze in Longbridge last night (Wednesday).<br \/>\nThe fire broke out around 10.35pm in West Works Way.<\/p>\n<p>At the height of the incident, 14 fire engines and two hydraulic platforms attended and worked to extinguish the flames.<\/p>\n<p>Residents living nearby were told to stay indoors and keep all of their doors and windows shut to prevent smoke entering their properties.<\/p>\n<p>Crews \u2013 more than 60 firefighters \u2013 were supported throughout the night by drone operators giving a bird\u2019s eye view of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The building, measuring around 30m by 50m, was constructed of steel frame and metal sheeting.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>West Midlands Fire Service said: \u201cFirefighters have made good progress extinguishing the fire overnight, and we have scaled down significantly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, three fire engines remain at the scene as crews continue to damp down any remaining hotspots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There have been no reported casualties or injuries at this incident.<\/p>\n<p>A structural engineer is now at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Bristol Road South was closed between Longbridge island and the McDonald\u2019s as the emergency services and engineers deal with the scene.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; A TOTAL of 14 fire engines attended a severe blaze in Longbridge last night (Wednesday).
