Shop owner in Cornwall seaside town clashes with furious locals over \u00a310 pasties&#8230; and says she wants to charge even MORE (despite rivals being much cheaper)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">A Cornish pasty seller in one of Britain&#8217;s most picturesque villages has complained that whingeing locals are stopping her from charging \u00a313.50 per pasty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Terri Munday runs the Mousehole Deli and Kitchen near Penzance, Cornwall, where it costs \u00a310 to have a pasty to eat in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">She had planned to increase her prices to \u00a313.50 this month &#8211; but told MailOnline she was prevented by &#8216;abusive&#8217; customers moaning about money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Fellow Cornish pasty sellers a few miles down the road charge as little as \u00a34.60 for similarly sized pasties and blasted Terri for flogging her food at such &#8216;extortionate&#8217; prices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">However, Terri defended her prices and said the \u00a310 tag for the pasties made by local mother and son duo Ann and Fergus was actually evidence of her &#8216;trying to keep the costs down&#8217; as she also had to provide and wash the plates she serves them on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">She told MailOnline:\u00a0&#8216;As if life is not hard enough. Pork pies were also on sale for as much as \u00a312.50<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;Now I am going to have to run at a loss and delay this process.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Terri&#8217;s\u00a0deli sits in the heart of Mousehole, a beautiful village long considered to be Britain&#8217;s second home capital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Last week, MailOnline revealed that Cornwall County Council was urging locals to fight back against out-of-towners turning their stunning haven into a ghost town.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Yet this week the talk of the town has been Terri&#8217;s \u00a310 pasties.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Locals said the pasties were delicious but even the local councillor who had lived in Mousehole for almost 20 years admitted she would never pay a tenner for them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Thalia Marrington, 50, the deputy leader of the Cornwall County Council <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/liberal-democrats\/index.html\" id=\"mol-71c41e80-0fde-11f0-8017-8b146778a91a\" rel=\"noopener\">Liberal Democrats<\/a>\u00a0and a Mousehole villager for 18 years, said she expected pasties to cost &#8216;a little more&#8217; in Mousehole.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">She said: &#8216;I know they are expensive.\u00a0They are nice. It&#8217;s what I expect in Mousehole. You do pay a bit more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;They do try, but we live in a goldfish bowl. We have always tried to keep our prices at a reasonable rate because the area is not wealthy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;We have to try keep the prices within people&#8217;s wasn&#8217;t shocked because of Mousehole being a tourism hotspot, which he suggested made everything naturally more expensive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He explained: &#8216;With the summer coming, Mousehole is one of the more touristy destinations.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">MailOnline analysis of shops selling pasties between Mousehole and Penzance at the moment found the Mousehole Deli and Kitchen sold the most expensive ones at \u00a310.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The cheapest were sold at Rowe&#8217;s Cornish Bakers in Penzance for
