Being the subject of a nationally televised roast is one thing, Tom Brady<\/a> now realizes. But as he told comedian Kevin Hart<\/a> of his 2024 experience on Comedy Central<\/a>, the difficult part is exposing one’s children to ridicule, even if it isn’t directed at them.<\/p>\n

‘What everyone has to realize is that I was in a locker room for 28 years of my life and the only thing we do in locker rooms are roast each other,’ Brady told Hart on the Cold as Balls podcast. ‘The answer is: I had a great time.<\/p>\n

‘The only thing that was hard for me is that I have kids and that it hurts their feelings,’ he continued. I think when you’re a parent \u2013 I didn’t think about those things and I learned a lesson.’<\/p>\n

Speaking to the veteran comedian as they soaked in cold tubs on the Old Spice-branded program, Brady did not identify any particular joke that caused his children pain. There are, however, several options pertaining to Brady’s 2022 split with model wife Gisele Bundchen<\/a>, who has since reportedly had a child with jiujitsu instructor Joaquim Valente.<\/p>\n

‘Gisele gave you a ultimatum,’ Hart told Brady during Comedy Central’s G.R.O.A.T. (Greatest Roast of All Time).<\/p>\n

‘Gisele said, ‘You retire or we’re done.’ That’s what she said to you, Tom. ‘You retire or we’re done.’<\/p>\n

Brady went on Hart’s ‘Cold As Balls’ podcast, which is sponsored by a deodorant brand<\/p>\n

Brady and Bundchen were married for 13 years. They had two kids together – son Benjamin, 15, and daughter Vivien, 12. Brady has another son, Jack, from a previous relationship\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tom Brady said he didn’t mind be roasted by Kevin Hart and others, until he talked to his kids<\/p>\n

‘Let me tell you something,’ Hart continued, taking aim at Brady’s disappointing final season in Tampa. ‘When you got a chance to go 8-9, and all it will cost you is your wife and your kids\u2026 you gotta do what the f*** you gotta do, do you understand me?’<\/p>\n

Comedian Nikki Glaser had a memorably raunchy joke about Bundchen and Valente before teasing Brady that he now has eight rings after ‘Gisele gave hers back.’<\/p>\n

Meanwhile roast master Jeff Ross told Brady he had enough Super Bowl rings to ‘forge a sword to go on a quest to get Gisele back from that jiujitsu teacher.’<\/p>\n

For his part, Brady said he didn’t mind any of the jokes.<\/p>\n

‘I do think laughter is the best form of medicine for all of us and I think when I went through a lot of hard times in my life I’ve always turned to comedy and laughter,’ he told Hart.<\/p>\n

Daily Mail reported last year in the days after the roast that Gisele, 44, was unhappy at being targeted during the show.<\/p>\n

And a source also told People: ‘As always, Gisele’s priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted.’<\/p>\n

Brady and Bundchen were married for 13 years before they split in October 2022, midway through Brady’s final season as an NFL player with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.<\/p>\n

They had two kids together – son Benjamin, 15, and daughter Vivien, 12. Brady has another son, Jack, from a relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.<\/p>\n
