Volunteers as young as 16 are being invited to apply to help at the Commonwealth Games when the event returns to Glasgow next summer.<\/p>\n
Organisers are looking for people for the front and back of house as well as those who can assist athletes from all 74 nations taking part.<\/p>\n
Jade Gallagher, Chief Operating Officer, Glasgow 2026 said \u201cWe\u2019re creating opportunities for a new generation of volunteers to join the incredible existing volunteering community in the city.<\/p>\n
“This is a moment for Glaswegians who would have been just 4 years old during Glasgow 2014, to be part of shaping a new story for the Commonwealth Games.<\/p>\n
“By lowering the volunteering age to 16, we\u2019re giving more people the chance to gain valuable experience in events and sport, all whilst making incredible memories and life-long friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cVolunteers truly make the Games; they\u2019re a friendly face in the crowd and vital behind-the-scenes support in our venues.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019re excited to be opening our application portal next week, proudly welcoming volunteers from all backgrounds and communities.<\/p>\n
The applications portal will open on Tuesday September 16 at 10am and people from a range of backgrounds are being asked to apply.<\/p>\n
