Tottenham have been told the updated price tag of Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta after their interest in the summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n Spurs made a \u00a340million enquiry for the French centre forward, which was promptly rejected by the Eagles.<\/p>\n Now, Football Insider<\/strong> have revealed that Crystal Palace are not willing to sell Mateta in the January window<\/a>, as he is such a vital part of Oliver Glasner\u2019s side.<\/p>\n However, Thomas Frank\u2019s<\/a> side may still come back in for the 28-year-old in the new year, or at the end of the season.<\/p>\n Everton\u2019s former chief Keith Wyness<\/a> \u2013 who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 believes that Spurs will have to pay a much higher fee than the \u00a340m they offered before to sign Mateta<\/a>.<\/p>\n Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider<\/strong>\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness insisted that Mateta is worth more than \u00a340m, as the price for goalscorers at the moment is very high.<\/p>\n The Frenchman has scored 30 goals across the last two Premier League seasons and has already opened his account for this campaign, finding the net in Crystal Palace\u2019s 3-0 win over Aston Villa<\/a>.<\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n Wyness added that Mateta could still end up going at some stage, despite his higher valuation.<\/p>\n He told Football Insider<\/strong>\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cHe\u2019s one of the stars that they couldn\u2019t let go. They\u2019d already let a couple go, and I think he had to be there.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think \u00a340m is the right price for him at the moment, for a goal scorer. He\u2019s probably worth a little bit more than that, but he\u2019s one they couldn\u2019t let go, so I was not surprised to see them stick their feet in on that one. <\/p>\n \u201cHe may end up going at some stage, but he\u2019s going to be at a higher valuation. He\u2019s a quality player and I think he\u2019s going to have a good season, so we\u2019ll see how that plays into it as well. <\/p>\n \u201cBut Palace, Glasner\u2019s trying to build, and obviously Mateta likes Glasner, responds well to his management. The key to this is going to be where Glasner is going to be going forward as well.
