A three Star performance from Swaumu Masungo inspired the Safaricom Chapa Dimba All Stars to a morale-boosting 6\u20134 victory over hosts Zaragoza CFF in a friendly match played on Thursday at the Federaci\u00f3n Aragonesa de F\u00fatbol and Zaragoza Playing Grounds in Spain.<\/p>\n

The win was further sweetened by a brace from Hellen Mito and a goal from Sharon Asado, as the girls\u2019 team continued to shine during their elite training camp in Spain courtesy of Safaricom.<\/p>\n

On the same day, the boys\u2019 team dominated SD Valdefierro in a one-sided 6\u20130 triumph. Brian Aroko and Armstrong Omondi both struck twice, while Lokonde Mwale and Felix Manguti added a goal each to seal the emphatic win.<\/p>\n

These friendly matches marked the third day of the ongoing Safaricom Chapa Dimba All Stars elite training camp in Spain, blending football excellence with exposure to new opportunities off the pitch.<\/p>\n

Beyond the action on the field, players and officials have been exploring career-shaping experiences. On Thursday morning, they visited Podoactiva, Europe\u2019s largest podiatry and biomechanics center, located at Walqa Technology Park in Huesca. The center specializes in advanced foot and gait diagnostics, biomechanics, custom insoles, chiropody, and sports podiatry solutions for individuals and professional teams. This visit opened the players\u2019 eyes to diverse career pathways in sports beyond active football.<\/p>\n

Coach Evan Oketch of the boys\u2019 team praised his side\u2019s mentality:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever I approach a game, I see it as a must-win situation because all the boys are ready to work. They came here to showcase their talent, and that\u2019s why they are playing so well. Winning is not always guaranteed, but if you play good football, you increase your chances. Today\u2019s game was really good. My boys started strongly and maintained the momentum throughout. In our first match we conceded, but today we made sure we didn\u2019t concede any.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the girls\u2019 side, Sheila Juma expressed her excitement after their spirited performance:<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s match was much better compared to our first game, which ended in a draw. We showed great improvement, and it felt good playing against the Spanish side. This is my first time playing and winning in Spain\u2014a dream come true. We applied what we\u2019ve been taught, like opening play and releasing the ball quickly. It worked for us, and that\u2019s why we managed to beat our opponents.\u201d<\/p>\n

The camp has also opened doors for standout talents. Following in the footsteps of Hellen Mito and Martha Simiyu Nafula, who trained with SD Huesca\u2019s senior women\u2019s team earlier in the week, Derrick Oketch and Brian Aroko have now been selected to join SD Huesca\u2019s senior men\u2019s squad for a gym and field training session.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Beyond the action on the field, players and officials have been exploring career-shaping experiences.
