The clip, shared online, sparked criticism for its narrow view of what it means to be British.<\/p>\n

American Airlines (AA)<\/a> passengers and others passing through the airport pointed out that Heathrow\u2019s workforce reflects London\u2019s diversity, not a lack of British staff.<\/p>\n

Many employees who appear to be of Indian heritage are in fact British citizens, often second or third generation, recruited from surrounding boroughs.<\/p>\n

Heathrow is the largest single-site employer in the United Kingdom, with tens of thousands of staff working directly on the airport campus and thousands more through contractors and supply chains.<\/p>\n

The airport recruits heavily from nearby boroughs like Hounslow, Hillingdon, and Ealing. These areas have large South Asian communities, including British Indians, Pakistanis, and Bangladeshis.<\/p>\n

As a result, front-line staff at Heathrow often reflect the demographics of West London. Security agents, ground handlers, cleaning staff, and retail workers are typically the most visible roles to passengers.<\/p>\n
