{"id":41652,"date":"2025-04-22T17:33:13","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T17:33:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/41652\/"},"modified":"2025-04-22T17:33:13","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T17:33:13","slug":"london-marathon-2025-date-route-map-how-to-watch-and-road-closures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/41652\/","title":{"rendered":"London Marathon 2025 date, route map, how to watch and road closures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t\t\t\t\tThis weekend will see runners from across the globe on the capital&#8217;s streets for the 45th London Marathon\t\t\t\t\t                <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/topic\/london-marathon?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London Marathon<\/a> is set to be the biggest yet, with more than <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/sport\/london-marathon-ballot-apply-3018038?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">56,000 runners <\/a>pounding the streets of the capital.<\/p>\n<p>The 45th London Marathon, sponsored by IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), will see competitors coming from across the globe and <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/sport\/10-things-to-never-say-to-a-london-marathon-runner-3016523?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all walks of life to participate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the<a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/news\/peres-jepchirchir-world-record-london-marathon-3016908?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> elite athletes competing<\/a> in the event, former sports stars such as seven-time gold medal-winning Olympic cyclist <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/sport\/olympics\/jason-kenny-who-is-team-gb-most-decorated-olympian-medals-cycling-1141525?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sir Jason Kenny<\/a> and England cricketers Sir Andrew Strauss and Sir Alastair Cook will be on the start line.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside will be comedians <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/author\/romesh-ranganathan?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Romesh Ranganathan<\/a> and <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/culture\/television\/joel-dommett-sienna-miller-coached-sex-scene-real-life-2295360?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joel Dommett,<\/a> presenter Kelly Brook, West End star and X Factor winner <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/culture\/music\/alexandra-burke-louis-walsh-not-over-winning-x-factor-3097353?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alexandra Burke<\/a>, McFly band member <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/culture\/music\/mcfly-interview-album-nme-five-star-reviews-2297496?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harry Judd<\/a> and the Body Coach <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/inews-lifestyle\/joe-wicks-got-four-children-want-fifth-3554755?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joe Wicks.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>From Parliament, 17 MPs and one peer are also participating, including Shadow Secretary of State for Justice Robert Jenrick and Lord James Bethell.<\/p>\n<p>And there will be <a class=\"post_in-line_link\" href=\"https:\/\/inews.co.uk\/sport\/10-things-to-never-say-to-a-london-marathon-runner-3016523?ico=in-line_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tens of thousands of runners hoping to complete the world-famous course<\/a> and raise some funds for their favoured charity.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_248433562.jpg\" alt=\"Fun runners compete near the Houses of Parliament during the 2024 London Marathon in central London on April 21, 2024.
