As reported by Hull Live on Tuesday, the two parties have been working on a deal in recent weeks, with the 35-year-old now putting pen to paper on a new contract.

That deal will take Briscoe into an eighth year at the club over two spells. He has signed a one-year extension for the 2026 season, with the club holding a further option for 2027.

Briscoe first appeared for Hull in 2008, leaving the club at the end of 2013 and playing for both Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards. He returned in 2024 and has spent the last 18 months back with the Airlie Birds, notching up his 100th try for the club against Salford Red Devils last month.

The winger, who has regularly featured at centre this year, also became Super League’s ninth highest try-scorer of all time and has over 450 career appearances to his name.

Speaking on his new deal, Briscoe is now determined to continue the club’s upward trajectory under John Cartwright. He said: “Being back at the club over the last year and a half has reignited my passion for Hull FC and I’m delighted to extend my time here.

“There is a vision and an ambition from the club, one that I share with the owners, coaches and my fellow teammates, and I didn’t want my time on that journey to come to an end.

“I have really enjoyed supporting some of the younger players in the squad with the experience I am able to bring to the table. Watching the development of some of the young outside backs in particular has been exciting so far and I’m confident their upward trajectories will continue.”

Briscoe will continue to play a key role in the development of Hull’s up-and-coming outside backs. The likes of Harvey Barron and Lewis Martin have starred on the wings this season, with the veteran playing a development role – while adding much-needed experience, depth, and competition to the back positions.

That role is something club Director of Rugby, Gareth Ellis, was keen to emphasise – with the club finding a key balance to their three-quarter line, not to mention signing up Joe Ward to a new deal.

Ellis continued: “While we’re seeing some really bright young backs rise through our ranks at the moment, it’s important that we find that balance of youth and experience in our squad. And seeing Tom remain with us into 2026 does just that.

“He’s had a really important impact on helping develop some of those players since his return to the club – particularly with Lewis and Harvey, who have had, and will continue to have, the opportunity to learn from one of the most experienced wingers in the sport.

“He is also continuing to bring his own impact on the field with the energy and enthusiasm he has for this club.”

Tom Briscoe has signed a new deal at Hull FC.Hull FC outside back Tom Briscoe.(Image: SW PIX) Hull…

[4102
115424,4151,6531,79,121468,16,15
0":"post-416528","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-rugby","8":"tag-hull-fc","9":"tag-rugby","10":"tag-rugby-league","11":"tag-sports","12":"tag-tom-briscoe","13":"tag-uk","14":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
