Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna insists tomorrow night’s visitors to Portman Road, Sheffield United, have been better than their pointless start to the season suggests.<\/p>\n
The Blades registered 28 victories on their way to a third-place Championship finish last season, going on to lose the Play-Off Final to Sunderland in agonising fashion.<\/p>\n

Chris Wilder was subsequently sacked as manager, with his replacement, Ruben Selles, having overseen five straight defeats in all competition at the start of this campaign.<\/p>\n
“Of course, you would have expected them to have had a few more points on the board, but it’s a really small sample of games,” said McKenna, whose own team are still to register their first victory of 2025\/26.<\/p>\n
“Their first game (a 4-1 home loss to Bristol City), truthfully, was a freak result. If you look at the data beneath it, it was a scoreline that was completely out of touch with the chances in the game.<\/p>\n

“The next three games have been tight and decided by one goal (1-0 defeats to Swansea, Millwall and Middlesbrough). They’ve had chances in each of the games.<\/p>\n
“I think if you played those four games over 100 times, they’d have points on the board. I’m absolutely certain of that.<\/p>\n
