Harvey Elliott\u2019s new message has been reacted to by a number of Liverpool players as he prepares for his Aston Villa bow following a deadline day move.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Harvey Elliott<\/a> struggled to make an impact last term during Liverpool<\/a>\u2019s Premier League title charge, and rumours around his exit were rife this summer with numerous clubs vying to land his services.<\/p>\n

Former scout Mick Brown told Football Insider<\/strong> in July that Newcastle and Tottenham had both joined the race to sign Elliott<\/a> this summer, amid previous interest from Fulham<\/a> and Brighton<\/a>, and an exit looked increasingly likely toward the end of the window as Liverpool brought in numerous attacking players.<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on Monday (1 September) morning that Aston Villa had opened talks to sign Elliott<\/a> after RB Leipzig had stalled in negotiations for his services, and the deal progressed over the following hours.<\/p>\n

Liverpool officially confirmed Elliott\u2019s exit to Aston Villa<\/a> on deadline day, with a season-long loan move agreed between the two sides and a \u00a335million obligation-to-buy clause inserted into the move [Sky Sports<\/a>], and he has now sent a heartfelt message online as he prepares to debut at his new club.<\/p>\n

Elliott took to\u00a0Instagram\u00a0on Thursday (11 September) to share a message to Villa fans in anticipation of his potential debut this weekend against Everton, saying:\u00a0\u201cWorking towards the weekend. Looking forward to seeing you soon Villans!\u201d<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old\u2019s message drew reactions from a number of his former teammates, as Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Wataru Endo all left likes.<\/p>\n

New teammate and England international Morgan Rogers replied saying: \u201cWe readyyyyy,\u201d while Tyler Morton, who also departed the Reds this summer to join Lyon, replied to his post to say: \u201cNumberrrrr 9\u201d in a nod to attacking midfielder Elliott\u2019s unusual new squad number at Villa Park.<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong> revealed in April that Elliott\u2019s priority was to remain at Liverpool ahead of next season<\/a>, but he has been frustrated with his lack of action at the club, so a move has now been sanctioned as he aims to further his own career while the Reds spend big in search of more success.<\/p>\n
