\n Emergency services were called to Birmingham New Road yesterday afternoon (September 10) after a car had collided with the fencing on the dual carriageway and the rear of\u00a0the Selco Builders Warehouse.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n Crews from West Midlands Fire Service confirmed the driver, a man, had freed himself from the vehicle, and firefighters liaised\u00a0with Selco staff who cordoned off the affected area.\n<\/p>\n
\n A structural engineer made the site safe.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Shortly after 4.30 on Wednesday, 10 September, we responded to Birmingham New Road, Tipton, at the rear of Selco Builders Warehouse.\n<\/p>\n
\n “A fire engine and a 4×4 brigade response vehicle from Dudley attended, arriving to find a car had come into collision with perimeter fencing on the dual carriageway, and the merchant warehouse.\n<\/p>\n
\n “A man freed himself from the vehicle before we arrived at the scene, and is believed to have been conveyed to Russell Hall Hospital by paramedics for further treatment.\n<\/p>\n
\n “There were no other injuries or casualties.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Crews made the scene safe and liaised with Selco staff, who put a cordon around the affected area. A structural engineer deemed the building safe.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The affected vehicle was recovered and we left this incident at 7.37pm.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed the driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment.\n<\/p>\n
\n In a statement, the ambulance service said: “We were called to reports of a one car RTC on Birmingham New Road in Dudley at 4.25pm, yesterday, and sent an ambulance to the scene.\n<\/p>\n
