Isaac Schmidt<\/a> has already declared his eagerness to seal a permanent transfer at Werder Bremen, putting his time at Leeds United<\/a> behind him.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two players were sent out on loan in the back end of the summer window from Leeds, Isaac Schmidt and Largie Ramazani.<\/p>\n

Signed in August 2024, both players struggled for opportunities during the 24\/25 season, and sought loan exits to play more in the current campaign.<\/p>\n

Schmidt\u2019s loan eventually materialised as he headed out to the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen. He agreed personal terms back in July for a loan, but had to wait until James Justin arrived at Elland Road before a deal was finalised<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Swiss international couldn\u2019t have asked for a better start in Germany. He came off the bench in the 71st minute, 3-1 down to Bayer Leverkusen, scoring just five minutes later to halve the deficit, before his side levelled deep in added time.<\/p>\n

After that, Schmidt then earned his latest call-up to the Switzerland squad, again coming off the bench in a 3-0 win against Jaka Bijol\u2019s Slovenia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leeds\u2019 transfer agreement with Werder Bremen reportedly includes a buy option between \u00a32.6-3.5million<\/a><\/p>\n

For the full-back himself, he\u2019s making it clear that he would like to join Bremen on a permanent deal, as he currently looks for a more settled place to live.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m currently looking for an apartment so I can really settle in Bremen,\u201d Schmidt told Bild<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019d like to play for Werder for a longer period. That\u2019s my big goal. Of course, I know that a lot will depend on my performance here.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A goal just five minutes into his debut is exactly what Schmidt needed to start proving his point.<\/p>\n

He is clearly a better player than he got chance to show last season, the issue for him was Junior Firpo and Jayden Bogle being starters.<\/p>\n

Schmidt was never going to start often with that quality in front of him, and the same was the case this season.<\/p>\n

However, now that he\u2019s in the Bundesliga, he could very easily take advantage of this opportunity. With the World Cup up ahead, he\u2019s forcing his way into contention.<\/p>\n
