Cave\u2019s adopted hometown featured heavily in the clips, with lyrics to \u2018Water\u2019s Edge\u2019 appearing on its shoreline.<\/p>\n<p>After shots of Cave\u2019s face were projected onto Brighton\u2019s West Pier, the date \u201c31.07.26\u201d appeared on screen.<\/p>\n<p>His connection to Brighton is deeply personal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/nick-cave-says-he-moved-to-la-because-brighton-had-just-become-too-sad-after-his-sons-death-3085380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">having spent a number of years living there with his family before moving to Los Angeles following the death of his son Arthur in 2015<\/a>. It also provided the backdrop to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/reviews-various-artists-15636-324871\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fictionalised documentary 20,000 Days on Earth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Announcement coming 15 September <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oOQvaOlwkQ\">pic.twitter.com\/oOQvaOlwkQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nick Cave &amp; The Bad Seeds (@nickcave) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nickcave\/status\/1966400133060337689?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">September 12, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>If and when the date is officially announced, it will follow news of a homecoming for the Australian artist in support of the Bad Seeds\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/nick-cave-the-bad-seeds-wild-god-review-3788381\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acclaimed 2024 album \u2018Wild God\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The shows kick off in January 2025, and will see Cave and co. Head to outdoor venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, as well as indoor shows in Adelaide and Wellington, New Zealand, marking their first Australian and New Zealand tour in nine years<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/nick-cave-the-bad-seeds-wild-god-review-3788381\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a four-star review of \u2018Wild God\u2019<\/a>,\u00a0NME\u00a0shared: \u201cBad Seeds records are infamously loaded with gothic doom and gloom. Of course, this ain\u2019t a poptastic LOLfest, and still coloured with the many shades of a life so challenging and weathered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut never has Cave been so freewheelin\u2019 than on the giddy \u2018Frogs\u2019, \u201cJumping for love and the opening sky above\u201d as \u201cKris Kristofferson walks by kicking a can in a shirt he hasn\u2019t washed for years\u201c. With a lust for life, the once-dark prince is letting the light in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/warren-ellis-interview-nick-cave-bad-seeds-wild-god-grinderman-death-bunny-munro-3790972\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speaking to\u00a0NME\u00a0about the creation of the album and working with Cave<\/a>, Bad Seeds member and the frontman\u2019s frequent collaborator\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/warren-ellis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Warren Ellis<\/a>\u00a0shared: \u201cWhen we sat down at the start of last year, we\u2019d just done a big festival run, the Bad Seeds were back together, and we\u2019d played these really transcendental shows \u2013 they were really ecstatic at times. There was a real feeling that we wanted the music to move in that way. It\u2019s really been driven by how Nick has been feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Cave has also worked with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/warren-ellis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Warren Ellis<\/a>\u00a0are set to score\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/tv\/nick-cave-novel-the-death-of-bunny-munro-tv-adaptation-starring-matt-smith-3550178\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the new television adaptation of his 2009 novel<\/a>\u00a0The Death Of Bunny Munro.
