To mark this achievement organisers have chosen a beach party theme, fancy dress is encouraged but optional. The free 5km walk, jog, or run starts from the Leeds Urban Bike Park at 9am. If you haven\u2019t been before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parkrun.org.uk\/register\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>register for a bar code here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We stay in Middleton for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Middletonmakersmarket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Makers\u2019 Market<\/strong><\/a> at Middleton Park Circus. Find handmade crafting, knits, jewelery and more, even some magic for the kids. 10am-2pm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/trinitynetwork.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Trinity Network<\/strong><\/a> host their Community Reflections Caf\u00e9 on Saturday 10am-12pm at the United reformed Church, Nesfield Avenue, Belle Isle, LS10 3LG<\/p>\n<p>As the cricket season draws to a close, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hunsletnelson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Hunslet Nelson<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Second XI take on Liversedge CC at their Gipsy Lane ground, LS11 5TT on Saturday starting at 12pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grovestock<\/strong> is a charity music festival at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheGroveInn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Grove Inn<\/strong><\/a> near Bridgewater Place (LS11 5PL) starting at 3pm on Saturday, it\u2019s pay-as-you-feel raising money for Holbeck-based music charity <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ClothCatLeeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Cloth Cat<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HUNSLETRLFC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Hunslet RLFC<\/strong><\/a> take on Toulouse Olympique in their final match of the season at South Leeds Stadium on Saturday afternoon, kicking off at 3pm. It\u2019s been a tough season for the club so get down and show them your support. Tickets at: <a href=\"https:\/\/hunsletrflc.ticketco.events\/uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>hunsletrflc.ticketco.events\/uk<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Before the match, join <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/betterbeeston\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Better Beeston<\/strong><\/a> in a <strong>litter pick<\/strong> around the stadium and get a free ticket for the match. Meet at the main vehicle gate on Middleton Grove, LS11 5DJ at 1pm, equipment provided.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.slunglow.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Slung Low<\/strong><\/a> host their end of summer <strong>Ceilidh<\/strong> with a live band on Saturday evening. Get down to Temple (corner of Bath Road and Water Lane) in Holbeck to learn some dances and enjoy food and drink from 6pm. Pay-what-you-feel, tickets at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slunglow.org\/shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>www.slunglow.org\/shows<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/show.fomp.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Great Middleton Park Show<\/strong><\/a> on Sunday, running from 1-4pm around the lake. Entries to the produce show should be brought to the show marquee between 8:30-11am. Full details and entry form are on the <a href=\"https:\/\/show.fomp.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>show website<\/strong><\/a>. There will also be a host of stalls, kids entertainment, animal displays and live performances.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/betterbeeston\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Better Beeston<\/strong><\/a> will be out again litter picking on Sunday afternoon, meeting at the junction of Lady Pit Lane and Stratford Street LS11 6JG at 1pm.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100091304139192\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>South Leeds Community Kitchen<\/strong><\/a> will be cooking up a free meal on Sunday, 4-5:45pm, at St Mary\u2019s Church, Town Street, Beeston (opposite Nisa). Everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday evening residents of <strong>Leeds Dock<\/strong> are invited to a meeting try and set up a <strong>community association<\/strong> for the area. The meeting takes place at the <a href=\"http:\/\/holdfastleeds.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Holdfast Bookshop<\/strong><\/a>, on the dock near the Mumtaz restaurant, starting at 6pm.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday you can join the <strong>Belle Isle Clean Up Day<\/strong> organised by BITMO, Leeds Federated and Places For People. The full day runs from meeting up at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/belleisletmo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>BITMO\u2019s GATE<\/strong><\/a>, Aberfield Gate, LS10 3QH at 10:30am for a breakfast toastie and briefing, through to 3pm. There\u2019s a free raffle for every volunteer.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>SEN-Tastic<\/strong> group meets on Thursday. It\u2019s open to anyone who cares for children with special needs, parents, siblings, carers, childminders and grandparents and offers coffee, friendship, advice and support. The group runs from 9:15-10:30am at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/stlukeschurchholbeck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>St Luke\u2019s Church<\/strong><\/a>, Malvern Road, Beeston, LS11 8PD.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/leedsbabybank.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Leeds Baby Bank<\/strong><\/a> will be at Dewsbury Road Community Hub &amp; Library on Thursday 10am-12pm offering support to people to access support services, community activity and longer-term support. They also gift families an essential top-up of items like nappies, wipes, formula and toiletries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Opera North<\/strong> are holding the first of a monthly series of <strong>free concerts<\/strong> at the Penny Hill Shopping Centre in Hunslet, near the Church Street entrance. From 12:30pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1098937753468157\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>St Luke\u2019s Tenants &amp; Residents Association<\/strong><\/a> will be holding their bi-monthly meeting on Thursday at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/stlukeschurchholbeck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>St Luke\u2019s Church<\/strong><\/a>, Malvern Road, LS11 8PD, starting at 6:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Also on Thursday evening <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redladder.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Red Ladder Theatre Company<\/strong><\/a> present \u2018Kailey\u2019 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/belleisletmo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>BITMO\u2019s GATE<\/strong><\/a>, Aberfield Gate, LS10 3QH at 7pm. Written by Bradford-based playwright and producer Kerry Wright, Kailey is a comedy drama that revolves around 18-year-old Kailey as she tries to cope while her mum is in prison. Inspired by Wright\u2019s own experiences, Kailey is a bold new play that shines a light on society\u2019s forgotten young people.<\/p>\n<p>And finally, there is a Police Contact Point at Cottingley Community Centre on Friday, 10am-12pm. This is a chance to raise concerns or ask questions of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WYPLeedsSouth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team<\/strong><\/a> in an informal setting.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>While you\u2019re here, can we ask a favour?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">South Leeds Life is published by a not-for-profit social enterprise.
