{"id":418801,"date":"2025-09-12T15:49:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T15:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/418801\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T15:49:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T15:49:15","slug":"23-million-counterfeit-haul-seized-in-camden-high-street-raids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/418801\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a323 million counterfeit haul seized in Camden High Street raids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>        <a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/london-post.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Counterfeit-bags-seized-as-part-of-of-Operation-Glimmerstone.jpeg?fit=600%2C800&amp;ssl=1\" data-caption=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Counterfeit-bags-seized-as-part-of-of-Operation-Glimmerstone.jpeg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Counterfeit bags seized as part of of Operation Glimmerstone\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Camden Council has seized counterfeit goods worth an estimated \u00a323 million from three shops on Camden High Street, as part of Operation Glimmerstone \u2013 a major enforcement initiative targeting organised criminality and counterfeit trading in the borough.<\/p>\n<p>Working in close partnership with the Metropolitan Police, WRi Group, Back Four Brand Protection, REACT UK, and Surelock Investigators, Camden Trading Standards carried out two coordinated raids on Wednesday 27 August and Wednesday 3 September 2025. The operations uncovered hidden storage areas packed with fake branded products, including luxury clothing, footwear, watches, jewellery, handbags, and accessories.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Camron Aref-Adib, Cabinet Member for Finance and Cost of Living, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCounterfeit trading is not a victimless crime \u2013 it undermines the hardworking, legitimate businesses that make Camden\u2019s high streets vibrant and unique, and it puts residents at risk with unsafe, poor-quality goods. We\u2019re proud to stand with our partners in taking decisive action to protect our borough and ensure Camden remains a safe and fair place to shop, live and work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In total, around 230 large sacks of counterfeit items were seized. Six arrests have been made and closure order applications are now underway.<\/p>\n<p>This raid is the latest in a series of related activity which has seen over \u00a370million worth of counterfeit goods removed from retail and wholesale supply since September 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Camden Trading Standards continues to work with enforcement partners to identify and disrupt counterfeit operations across the borough.
