Police have evacuated the area around Tyler Robinson’s family home after receiving ‘concerning information’ from the residence.<\/p>\n

Investigators have not revealed what exactly raised concern, but said the information came from directly in front of the residence.\u00a0A police helicopter is flying over the neighborhood and\u00a0reporters have been told to clear the area,\u00a0Fox News<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

The alleged assassin was named as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, from Washington, Utah<\/a>. He is a student in the electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College in St. George.<\/p>\n

He was not registered with any political party and did not vote in the November presidential elections, according to public records.\u00a0But officials said Robinson became ‘more political’ in recent years and spoke about disliking the conservative activist’s ideas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Robinson was turned into police overnight by his father and a minister in southern Utah after authorities shared images of the shooter, law enforcement sources told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

The suspect’s arrest came after Utah’s Governor Spencer Cox pleaded with the public to help find the person who shot 31-year-old Kirk dead while he spoke to students at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. The FBI<\/a> was offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Kirk’s killer.<\/p>\n

Discord says suspect ‘did not plan’ Charlie Kirk murder on the platform <\/p>\n

Discord issued a statement to NBC disputing some of the information shared by the FBI and Utah officials on Friday.<\/p>\n

Officials said the suspect’s roommate showed police messages on Discord that showed an account that went by the name ‘Tyler’ posting about retrieving a gun from a drop point, engraving bullers and other details about the scope on the gun.<\/p>\n

Discord said it did identifgy an accoung belonging to the suspect Tyler Robinson, but claimed the messages shared by officials were not sent on the app.<\/p>\n

The company’s statement read:<\/p>\n

‘In the course of our investigation, we identified a Discord account associated with the suspect, but have found no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence on Discord. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

‘The messages referenced in recent reporting about planning details do not appear to be Discord messages. These were communications between the suspect\u2019s roommate and a friend after the shooting, where the roommate was recounting the contents of a note the suspect had left elsewhere. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

‘We have removed the suspect\u2019s account for violating our off-platform behavior policy. We strongly condemn violence of any kind, including political violence, and we will continue to coordinate closely with law enforcement.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

‘It was a minister, and the minister went to a friend \u2013 a minister who\u2019s involved in law enforcement, by the way, and his good friend is a top US marshal, and they took it from there and then it was a father got involved,’ the president said.<\/p>\n

Trump added that he hopes the suspect gets the death penalty if convicted.<\/p>\n

‘In Utah you have death penalty, and a good governor there, I have gotten to know him. The governor is intent on the death penalty in this case and he should be,’ he said.<\/p>\n

The FBI and Justice Department did not immediately comment, but a news conference in Utah, where the killing took place on a college campus Wednesday, planned a news conference for later in the morning.<\/p>\n

‘We cannot do our job without the public’s help right now,’ Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said at a news conference Thursday night, adding that authorities have already received over 7,000 tips and have conducted more than 200 interviews.<\/p>\n
