Pok\u00e9mon Pokopia might be just that game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nintendo has announced a rather unexpected Pok\u00e9mon spin-off, Pokopia. Revealed during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/heres-everything-announced-in-nintendos-latest-direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">12th September Nintendo Direct<\/a>, the new game is coming to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/digitalfoundry-2025-nintendo-switch-2-the-digital-foundry-hardware-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Switch 2<\/a> in 2026 and is being developed by Koei Tecmo Games.<\/p>\n<p>In the game players are tasked with creating their own Pok\u00e9mon paradise, with Ditto as the protagonist &#8211; albeit Ditto taking on a human-like appearance.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"button video\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uhec-MNzRC0\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>About Pok\u00e9mon Pokopia<\/p>\n<p>As Ditto, players can explore and learn moves from the Pok\u00e9mon they befriend\u2014such as Bulbasaur&#8217;s Leafage to grow greenery, or Squirtle\u2019s Water Gun to revive dried-up plants\u2014expanding their capabilities and helping them create an inviting environment to attract a variety of Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n<p>Players can collect materials, build furniture, grow vegetables, and create homes for Pok\u00e9mon, allowing them to experience a cozy, slow life with Pok\u00e9mon\u2014one that they build themselves from the ground up. Over time, players can develop a town of their own and invite other players or Pok\u00e9mon to visit. Pok\u00e9mon Pokopia also features a day-night cycle linked to real-world time, changing weather, and in-game locations with their own unique characteristics.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Koei Tecmo has dabbled in this sort of title before, providing much of the work for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/companies\/square-enix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Square Enix<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/dragon-quest-builders-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dragon Quest Builders 2<\/a>, another Minecraft-esque spin-off of a major Japanese RPG series.
