An inquest has been opened\"LoganLogan Carter<\/p>\n

A 12-year-old boy died after being thrown from a park roundabout propelled by an e-bike wheel at ‘very high speed’, an inquest hearing was told.<\/p>\n

Logan Carter died in the tragedy <\/a>in Winsford, Cheshire,<\/a> on the evening of Friday, August 29. Police were alerted just before 6.15pm after paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service attended raced to Wharton Recreation Ground.<\/p>\n

At the scene, near Ledward Street, Logan was found to have been seriously hurt after falling from park apparatus. He was treated at the scene but sadly died.<\/p>\n

An inquest into his death was opened at Cheshire Coroner’s Court in Warrington on Wednesday (September 10).<\/p>\n

The hearing was told Logan, who lived in Winsford, was ‘seated in the centre of a roundabout in the park’ and that ‘an electric bike wheel was used to spin the roundabout at very high speed’.<\/p>\n

“Master Carter was thrown from the roundabout at significant force, sustaining severe injuries,” the hearing was told. “Despite the efforts of paramedics, Master Carter sadly passed away.”<\/p>\n

Senior coroner Jacqueline Devonish formally opened the inquest into the ‘unnatural’ death. A final hearing has been provisionally listed for March 30 next year.<\/p>\n

On September 1, Cheshire Police said a 13-year-old boy had been arrested<\/a> on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was released pending further enquiries.<\/p>\n

In a moving tribute issued following his death, Logan’s family said: “Logan was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, cousin and friend to many. He had an infectious personality and a beautiful smile.<\/p>\n

“Everyone wanted to be where Logan was. He was a little boy who was so full of life and wanted to make everyone laugh.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe made every day worth living. Logan was everyone\u2019s therapy person, their calm, and he will be missed more than we can ever put into words.<\/p>\n

“We are taking comfort from the words of support we have received whilst we take time to come to terms with the untimely loss of our blue eyed boy.”<\/p>\n
