Coronation Street star Tanisha Gorey has explained why she doesn\u2019t want her character, Asha Alahan, to reunite with Nina Lucas.<\/p>\n

Asha and Nina formed a romantic relationship back in 2021, but their love-affair came to an end a couple of years later when Nina kissed her girlfriend\u2019s twin brother, Aadi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pair have managed to maintain a strong friendship since their split<\/a>, but it seems like the couple won\u2019t ever be getting back together.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to us at Inside Soap<\/a>, Tanisha explained why she doesn\u2019t want to see the fan-favourite pairing give things another go in the future.<\/p>\n

“I loved how different Asha and Nina were, but they had this love for each other,” said the actor. “I\u2019ll always say from a Tanisha perspective, that as Nina cheated on her with Aadi, I don\u2019t want them to get back together out of principle.<\/p>\n

“The trust is gone. But I do love them as friends, and we\u2019ll see Nina be there for Asha in the future.”<\/p>\n

Asha has had a tough time lately in her role as a student paramedic. In harrowing scenes last month, she was assaulted by a patient<\/a> during a particularly difficult shift.<\/p>\n

She has been deeply affected by this experience and even suffered a panic attack shortly after, but she has mostly kept her ordeal to herself so far.<\/p>\n

To make matters worse, she doesn\u2019t have her brother by her side for support \u2013 with Aadi having recently moved to India<\/a> to make a fresh start in emotional scenes.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s really sad because they\u2019re not just siblings, they\u2019re twins,” Tanisha explained to us. “It\u2019s always been the two of them causing drama together.<\/p>\n

“Asha is definitely going to struggle with not having his company or the thought, ‘he\u2019ll be at home’, or ‘he\u2019ll be at work’. He\u2019s halfway across the world. But it was nice that before he left, we saw the love that they have for each other.”<\/p>\n
