There\u2019s no doubt the Switch 2 is a phenomenal piece of hardware, and a huge upgrade on the original console.<\/p>\n

But given its form factor and handheld functionality, it\u2019s not a PS5.<\/p>\n

So, when Capcom showcased the latest trailer for Resident Evil Requiem<\/a> during this week\u2019s Nintendo Direct<\/strong><\/a>, we got to see how the game will look on the Mario maker\u2019s machine.<\/p>\n

Now Sony has republished the trailer showing PS5 footage, so you can enjoy it all over again with much moodier lighting and overall improved presentation.<\/p>\n

While the Switch 2 version looks adequate, it\u2019s a clear step down from Sony\u2019s system, with heroine Grace Ashcroft\u2019s luxurious hair getting the biggest downgrade.<\/p>\n

The lighting \u2013 a standout feature in this title \u2013 is also dramatically different, lacking the same depth and detail as on PS5.<\/p>\n

Now obviously the scalability of the RE Engine is working in Capcom\u2019s favour here, and we\u2019re sure plenty of players will thoroughly enjoy playing the game on the Switch 2. That\u2019s no bad thing.<\/p>\n

But clearly the adventure will be better experienced on the PS5, where the improved visuals will add to the overall sense of immersion.<\/p>\n
