City head into the Manchester derby below Manchester United in the table, but a win could be the fillip they need ahead of their opening game of the Champions League<\/a> against Napoli next week.<\/p>\n Guardiola provided a number of injury updates at his pre-match press conference on Friday, and there was good news and bad news from the City boss.<\/p>\n Here’s the latest on the City injury front ahead of this weekend’s derby:<\/p>\n Omar Marmoush<\/p>\n Injury: <\/strong>Knee<\/p>\n Marmoush suffered an injury in Egypt’s goalless draw with Burkina Faso on Tuesday. He tried to carry on but was withdrawn five minutes later.<\/p>\n He returned to Cairo on crutches and underwent a scan in Egypt to assess the extent of the damage. City have confirmed the 26-year-old will miss the derby.<\/p>\n Potential return date: <\/strong>Unknown<\/p>\n John Stones<\/p>\n Injury:<\/strong> Muscle<\/p>\n The 31-year-old has started all three City games so far this season and played the full 90 minutes at Brighton before meeting up with England.<\/p>\n But Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel said he didn’t want to risk the centre-back in World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.<\/p>\n A City<\/a> statement said Stones had pulled out of the squad as a “precautionary measure”, with Guardiola confirming he is a doubt for Sunday’s derby in his pre-match press conference.<\/p>\n “Stones as well is a doubt.
